We're a group of costumers and friends who did a Lost Skeleton of Cadavra presentation for the L.A.con IV (Worldcon) Masquerade in 2006. We made everything you see - even the mundane clothing worn by Paul and Roger - with only a few exceptions (like Betty's sweater). We were fortunate to have help and support from some of the people who worked on the original film.
Although (we think) we did a great job, it was a tough competition and we didn't win anything. Still, we had tons of fun and a lot of people took pictures of us.
Announcer: And... the most horrifying fiend mankind has ever known: The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra!
Skeleton: "I have risen!"
Paul: "May God have mercy on us all!"
Announcer: See: The titanic battle for world supremacy!
See: The unbridled fury of Animala!
See: The sensuous 'dance of the aliens!'
Uh...Julie...you're not supposed to make it all look better than the original. Nice work!

I just realized that your task in making the Mutant was similar to what Larry asked of his professional actors, crew and artists when Lost Skeleton was in production...he had them actually pull back on their talent in order to simulate something flawed and clunky...and you as a professional costumer had to do the same thing...use your very high level of expertise to turn out something that looks clunky and pasted together.
